Topic: The spatial development strategy, which is located at the scale between the land use plan and the regional plan, is intended to be an informal and inter-municipal planning instrument that acts as a guideline for action for settlement development (especially living and working), for open space development and for the development of mobility in the future and forms a basis for municipal planning. The aim is to create a future-oriented spatial concept supported by all municipalities, whose strategy and project proposals will extend beyond the processing time of this project.

For the sub-strategy, economy, the challenge is above all to show the superordinate functional integration and the spatial-structural prerequisites in order to further increase its potential. In addition to the integration into the Munich Metropolitan Region, spatial patterns of economic activities based on geo-referenced company locations are shown. The Dun & Bradstreet company database forms the basis for this. It contains the exact locations of all companies and their classification of economic activities. Thus, small-scale patterns can be analysed and overlaid with the settlement structure from ATKIS and the accessibility by public transport. As a result, we identify potential areas that are well developed in terms of transport, which are to be further developed without further land allocation and by integrating further functions such as housing and utilities.

Brief description: The Spatial Development Strategy of the County of Fürstenfeldbruck shows intermunicipal development potentials for the subject areas living, working, mobility and landscape.
