The project is aiming at creating an Energy Use Plan for the City of Munich taking into account the heating and cooling sector within the entire metropolitan area. Representing a holistic link, the Energy Use Plan is supposed to integrate and coordinate the various scales, concepts and instruments in the fields of climate protection and energy transition. In comparison to existing Energy Use Plans, the new and individual approach within this project is, besides its large scale, to establish a highly digital version of the Energy Use Plan by setting up an updatable digital database system. Thereby the chair is enabled to refine its approaches in the field of Urban Energy Planning in cooperation with the Eniano GmbH, after having significantly contributed to the establishment of the Energy Use Plan as a planning instrument in Bavaria and Germany throughout the last years - the Guidebook Energy Use Plan being one of the major outputs.
