You think architectural models are THE means for communicating your ideas? But at the same time you think interaction could significantly improve the value of your model? We do! And therefore we want to explore the potentials of Architangible Models. Our “playgrounds” will be the Computer Lab and the Digital Design Lab where we will join multi-material 3D-printing, electronics and programming to make architectural
models interactive and forge interactive experiences.
We will use Arduino, an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software, as “brains” for the projects. In this scope we will show you how to program Arduinos, how to connect different input devices, lights, sound or even motors to the platform. Recently the palette of 3D printing materials has been extended through transparent, luminous, flexible and conductive materials. This provides a whole
universe of interesting new possibilities. On this basis we want you to think about innovative ways to combine these capabilities with classical architectural models (of any scale) to create rich experiences that can convey additional information showing the “whys” and “hows” of a planning project.
How to apply: The number of participants is limited. Please send us an informal application via e-mail (email@example.com). Experience with 3D-modeling software is highly recomended.
