Meltem Çavdar is a specialist in building archaeology, holding degrees from Istanbul Technical University and Regensburg University of Applied Sciences. She worked in archaeological research projects in Turkey such as the Acropolis of Vize (LMU Munich), Tarsus-Gözlükule Excavation (Boğaziçi University) and Küçükyalı ArkeoPark (Koç University). She was employed at ArcTron 3D - Engineering Office for Laser Scanning & 3D Surveying in Regensburg. From 2018 to 2024, she worked as research associate at the Professorship of Recent Building Heritage and Conservation. Since January 2019 she has been working on her dissertation project Formwork construction in the middle of the 20th century and its impact on concrete surface quality as research fellow of Wüstenrot Stiftung. Besides that, she is also a member of the 6. Research Network "Building, Building Economy, Building Sites" of German Archeological Institute in Istanbul.
