Real Estate Architecture explores the legacy of architectures built by private developers during the 1960s and 1970s. Through workshops and lectures, publications and exhibitions, it aims at revealing the transformation potentials of these ubiquitous developments. Rooted in the contexts of three different Belgian cities, the research project will reconsider three specific architecture typologies: the apartment building, the office tower and the commercial centre.

The participants will collaborate in teams of 10 under the supervision of one tutor. Two of four tutors are almuni at the Department of Architecture at TU Munich. Maria Conen (Conen Sigl Architekten) was visting professor at the Chair of Urban Architecture. Simon Jüttner (Buero Kofink Schels) graduated in architecture and urban design at the TU Munich and his colleague Sebastian Kofink is  research associate at the Chair of Architectural Design and Construction. Other tutors will be Jean-Benoît Vétillard and Kim Courrèges & Felipe De Ferrari from Plan Común.
